Our hair goes through the upmost throughout each and everyday. Whether it is heat styling, swimming in chlorine, UV exposure, brushing, tying and untying, the things we put our hair through can take a toll on it. There are many hair treatments out there to replenish your hair, however, the Moroccanoil Treatment of original or light is a great hair product for all your hair needs. But, what is the difference? In this article, we will talk about if the original or light best suits your hair.

Moroccanoil Treatment Original

The Moroccanoil treatment original was the first product that Moroccanoil put on their market. This product has argan oil installed right in it, which is loaded with nutrients to provide your hair with the best care. Argan oil is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins that are important for your hair. Having grown in such harsh, dry conditions, argan oil is also known for its UV protection properties.

The Moroccanoil original treatment is a versatile, nourishing and residue-free formula designed to repair and transform hair. This product will also tame the flyaways , condition split ends, and smooth hair that gives it an added shine as well. Additionally this conditioning treatment aids in detangling hair, improves manageability and significantly speeds up blow-drying time.

Being a dense formula, the Moroccanoil Treatment Original is recommended for thick, coarse hair that is dry, curly and unmanageable.

Moroccanoil Treatment Light

The Moroccanoil Treatment Light offers all the same benefits as the Original, however is better suited for people with fine and light-colored hair (bleached and grey hair). It’s basically the same formula, with all the same ingredients, only in a lighter form, texture and color.

The Moroccanoil Treatment Light is simply lighter making it more manageable in fine and thin hair. In terms of color if you have chemically lightened hair, then the Light treatment is recommended over the Original for protecting your hair color.

Quick Recap:

Original: Use if you have thick, coarse, curly hair. Also good if you are naturally light, but still have lots of hair.

Light: Use if you have fine, thin, brittle hair. Recommended for anyone who has bleached, platinum blonde, or grey hair.

How To Use The Morrocanoil Treatment: Original & Light

  1. Clean, towel dried hair

Use the Moroccanoil Treatment Original or Light on clean towel dried hair for a touch of nourishment after your wash. This will also help to speed up drying time. Simply apply 1-2 pumps of the treatment to clean towel dried hair from mid-lengths to the ends. With your fingers work the product through your hair, ensuring it is distributed evenly. Then blow dry or let dry naturally.

2. Dry styled hair

The Moroccanoil Treatment can also be used in dry hair to boost shine and control frizz. Pump a few small drops into your hands and apply on dry hair from mid length to ends. Work the product through your hair with focus on split ends and smoothing out areas of frizz.

3. Second day hair

Use the Moroccanoil Treatment Original or Light in second day hair to tame flyaways and condition split ends. Simply apply one pump into the palm of your hands and distribute evenly working from mid-lengths to ends. You can also use the product more strategically, by applying to problem areas in your dry hair to tame flyaways and frizz.

4. Improve your treatment mask

Another way to use this treatment oil is to combine it with a hair mask. Simply mix a few drops of Moroccanoil Treatment to your hair mask for added nourishment and apply the mask as usual. This will give your hair a deeper and more intense hydration boost.

5. Use before shampooing

For more intense repair and nourishment, use the Original or Light treatments before getting in the shower to wash your hair. Apply 1-2 pumps of the treatment to your hair and massage throughout. Leave this to sit for about 10-15 minutes before shampooing, then wash as usual.

6. Before swimming

As we mentioned, the argan oil infused Moroccanoil Treatment Original and Light are ideal for protecting hair from harsh drying conditions. For example, chlorinated water and UV rays. Before going to the beach or jumping in a pool, apply 1-2 pumps throughout the hair and work through to the ends. This will work to protect your hair from such harsh conditions.

If you are interested in going blonde, it is important to take a look at the different types of blonde to choose from. Ranging from lily white to darker, almost brown hues, blonde hair has the versatility to cater to all skin types. When it comes to bleaching your hair blonde, it needs to be kept in mind that the shade that is chosen doesn’t wash you out. Here are the six most popular shades of blonde described.

Platinum Blonde Hair

Platinum blonde is the lightest shade of blonde you can do. Platinum blonde can come in different hues as well, ranging from completely white to yellow/golden. This shade goes best with pale to medium toned skin and is really great with bright brown or blue eyes.

Baby Blonde Hair

Otherwise known as ‘natural blonde hair’, this blonde coloring looks very natural in terms of the highlights and lowlights that are used to achieve this look. Baby blonde can either be on the lighter or darker side in terms of shades. Of course, if you’re darker then you should use darker shades of blonde, and vice versa if you’re very light/pale. This will make sure that your end result comes out looking as natural as possible.

Strawberry Blonde Hair

This shade of blonde features a faint reddish appearance, giving it that strawberry blonde look. Depending on the amount of red put into the hair, it is easily mistaken for being called ‘redhead’. Strawberry blonde tends to look great on all skin types depending on the shades used.

Golden Blonde Hair

On the darker side of the blonde spectrum, golden blonde hair is the healthiest looking shade of blonde. The key to achieving a successful golden blonde hair color is by choosing a color that won’t come out brassy and by adding dimension through high and low lights within the same color.

Ash Blonde Hair

If you’ve ever seen hair with a subtle gray appearance, then it was more than likely an ash blonde color. This color is a great option for women who are looking for a softer look, as opposed to being boldly blonde. The gray tint gives it a more mature look, so this color is great for women who are starting to actually go gray. Ash blonde tends to looks best on pale to medium skin tone.

Honey Blonde Hair

Honey blonde features brown lowlights which make it the perfect blonde for women with darker skin tones. This color tends to work great on medium-dark skin tones since it’s not as light and won’t be too harsh for the skin. If you’re on the pale side, you may want to lighten this color up with some highlights around the face so that it doesn’t wash you out.

Overall

If you are tired of the basic hair color and want that gorgeous blonde to make your hair brighter, you can try full highlights or even balayage that can blend different shades into your natural look.

So, which one is your favorite shade of blonde?
